Page C1 of today's Globe and Mail features an article entitled, "Oh why the outcry about Gen Y?" While the article itself was interesting in that it attempts to correct some misconceptions about so-called "Generation Y," what struck me were the concluding remarks:
And remember: the generational stuff is fleeting. These young workers will soon start families, enter the housing market, become debt slaves - and complain about the next generation of hedonistic workers.
Debt slave. Is this how I want my life to be characterized? I think not. And yet people wonder why I am so uninterested in that rat race...
